Another issue that may occur when attempting to boot up is that the BIOS has been set to a wrong boot order. Your computer may attempt to boot to an incorrect device. For example, your BIOS is supposed to boot from a hard drive, but instead it’s trying to boot from a DVD ROM drive. Check the BIOS configuration to see what the boot order is currently set to. Devices at the top of the list will be booted to first. Confirm that the startup device has a valid operating system. Also check to see if there is media in a startup device. For example, you may have accidentally left a DVD in the DVD ROM drive. If your boot order was set to boot to the DVD ROM then the computer will drive to boot to the DVD left in the DVD ROM drive. Once you remove the DVD, the BIOS will skip the DVD ROM and boot from the secondary boot device, which may be the hard drive where the operating system is actually located.
