CRT
- CRT uses electron guns to shoot at phosphorous coating. Gun varies in electron intensity to illuminate red, green, blue on phosphorous coating.
- There’s a shadow mask behind the phosphorous coating to filter out incorrect electron beams and prevents discoloration
- Horizontal refresh rate: Rate that beams travel horizontally (one line) across the monitor.
- Vertical refresh rate: Rate that it takes to draw the entire screen and reset to the upper left corner. Low VRR can cause flicker
- CRT is analog, uses VGA, Dshell DB connector
