Wired
If you plug in a wired Ethernet connection into a SOHO router, you may not have many options to configure. The wired NIC will probably auto negotiate a speed and duplex. But you may also be able to manually configure the speed and duplex on the device you’re connecting. Usually speeds will be 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps. Duplex options are either half or full.
Wireless
If you’re connecting a device over wireless network, you have the option to enable or disable the wireless adapter. You can configure which SSID to select and input the associated password if required.
