A proxy can sit between users inside of the network and the public Internet.
To configure proxy settings go to the Intern Properties applet of the Control Panel. Then go to the Connections tab. From here you can change the LAN settings which is where you can input settings for a proxy server. The Advanced settings allow you to specify different proxies for HTTP, Secure traffic, FTP, Socks traffic. Or you can specify to use the same proxy for all. You can also configure exceptions so that a proxy won’t be used for certain destination IP addresses. Exceptions would be used in cases where applications may break when proxies are used.
