The System applet in the Control Panel lets you view computer information such as the Windows version and edition you are running.
Performance (virtual memory)
The System applet allows you to set the performance of the system, including the way the graphics are used and how much virtual memory is enabled,
Remote settings
You can enable or disable remote settings from the System applet. There is a Remote Settings link from within the System applet. Here you can turn on or off settings for remote assistance and Remote Desktop.
System protection
System protection is another link from within the System applet. System protection allows you to for example enable or disable system restore features or allocate additional disk space for system restore.
Advanced System Settings will provide you with performance options. Advance System Settings also give you options for User Profiles and Startup and Recovery.
Clicking on Settings under the Performance section, you can configure visually how the operating system will work. You can look at advanced settings for how applications will be used. You can see how the operating system is configured for Data Execution Prevention to help prevent malware from executing within the operating system.
