Internet Options can be found in the Windows Control Panel. Internet Options allows you to manage how your Internet is used on your computer.
General
○ Set a home page, tab management, browsing history, searching, appearance controls, change how the browser starts up
Security
The Security tab controls how the Internet browser reacts to websites that are located in different places. There are 4 categories: Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Sites, Restricted Sites. You can change the level of access to different sites based on where the sites are located in the different categories.
○ Can set how severely Internet Explorer safeguards your Web browsing. Pick a zone to control and set the security level.
○ High security level blocks more web sites and disables some plugs in
○ Medium allows less secure websites and features to display and operate
Privacy
The Privacy tab sets what private information is provided by your local browser to the web server.
○ Cookies, location tracking, pop-up blocker, browser extensions, inPrivate browsing
Content
The Content tab lets you view information on encryption and identification certificates and auto complete information.
Connections
○ Set up your connection to the Internet
This is where you set up VPN and proxy settings. You can also modify LAN settings.
Programs
○ Settings for default web browser, add-ons/plugins, how other programs deal with HTML files and email messages
Advanced
