The BitLocker feature provides full disk encryption for the operating system and all files.
To use BitLocker, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is recommended. Otherwise, you can use a flash drive and a password if there is no TPM.
Bitlocker runs seamlessly in the background and the user does not know it’s running.
Bitlocker is most useful for mobile devices that are easily stolen or misplaced. Even if an intruder gains access to the hard drive, the intruder won’t be able to read any of that data.
