Before you install Windows, examine the drive where you will be installing the operating system. See if the there is data on the drive already. If there is then back up this data because you could potentially be overwriting this information when you install the Windows OS to it. Check if the drive has been formatted. Are there partitions on the drive? Most partitioning and formatting can be completed during the installation.
