They generally don’t include a physical keyboard. Rather, tablets have virtual keyboards and are designed for touch input, whether that is a stylus or your finger touch input.
Tablets can be used for a variety of applications including productivity, gaming, and media creation and consumption.
Characteristics of tablets include:
- Enclosed in a single housing
- Usually have a touch screen
- 1-2 cameras
- Operates on a rechargeable battery
- May feature cellular networking
- Not easily repairable by the end user
