Operating systems use device drivers to talk to hardware.
Most operating system installation programs will recognize the hardware in your computer and will load the appropriate drivers. However, if your hardware is not automatically recognized you’ll need to install the drivers either during or after the OS installation. After a Windows OS installation is complete, you may want to perform Windows updates to make sure you’re running the latest version of the operating system with all of the most recent security patches.
