LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen are the most common laptop screens. They are lightweight and provide high resolution images. More information on laptop displays will be discussed in Section 1.2.
Resolutions are fixed such that if you make changes to the native resolution your image and text may appear blurry or not as sharp.
For now, let’s look at covering the CompTIA 220-1001 objective of replacing a laptop screen. Generally, you’ll need to first pry the bezel off. Work your way around the screen to remove all the snaps. Then remove any screws holding the screen in place. Disconnect the cables that provide power and video to the screen from the motherboard. Then replace with a new screen and reverse the process. Here is a demo of a laptop screen replacement:
