Intel and AMD are two main CPU manufacturers.
AMD CPUs tend to be a little less expensive than Intel CPUs.
Intel has a bigger scope of CPUs for laptops.
Intel has an LGA 1151 socket. The LGA 1151 socket is a mainstream socket for middle of the road systems. There is also an LGA 2266. These are higher end CPUs. The numbers 1151 and 2266 indicate how many pins are on the CPU socket.
AMD uses AM4 socket. It’s similar to Intel’s LGA 1151 in terms of it being used for mainstream middle of the road systems. AMD also uses TR4. TR4 is used for enthusiasts and high end workstations.
